The Silver Spitfire Origins

The Spitfire was designed as a short-range, high-performance interceptor aircraft by R. J. Mitchell.
Mitchell pushed the Spitfire’s distinctive elliptical wing (designed by B. Shenstone) to have the thinnest possible cross-section, helping give the aircraft a higher top speed than several contemporary fighters, including the Hawker Hurricane. Mitchell continued to refine the design until his death in 1937, whereupon his colleague Joseph Smith took over as chief designer, overseeing the development of the Spitfire through its multitude of variants.

By presenting the aircraft in this beautiful ‘bare metal’ state we aim to highlight the beauty of the Spitfire’s timeless design, drawing attention to the unique and famous shape of the airframe.

This RC model features a beautiful exterior finish along with high quality internals and is suitable for electric flight or Gas Engine. The plane has been designed by our friends at Alarise and finished to the highest standard offering a very unique and timelessly beautiful model aircraft. In the future we will develop a range of Warbirds with Alarise and bring them to market.

Introducing the Alarise / FTL Silver Spitfire. This beautiful model has been hand crafted with high attention to detail. A carbon fibre fuselage is wrapped an electroplated aluminium skin with hand finished detailing. Each model takes many house of labour to complete. Ensuring the highest level of detail on the panelling and overall finish.

Superior aerodynamics: F16 offers the pilot excellent handling characteristics as well as great stability which is not at the expense of overall agility.

Engine compatibility: This model is suitable for use with electric or gas engines.

Gas - 35-50 cc (modification required).
